Sometimes it's hard to break apart a book and figure out why I want to give it 5 stars, but something about this book, and the series leading up to it, deserves it. With every little description of the land and all its imaginative creatures, the author builds her world until you are fully immersed. Then she brings in character with every little creature, making you love them all. Then she builds the relationships among them, different in every way, giving you heartache of the good kind. Is heartache of the good kind possible? I don't know but I just had it. What a beautifully-crafted story that I was not expecting!
